About Wiingy's talent network
Join Wiingy AI's Chemistry Expert Network to work with the frontier AI labs that rely on PhD-grade scientific judgment. This is an open application for future contract opportunities matched to your background - not a specific job posting. Complete your profile, pass our expert vetting, and you become eligible for chemistry projects as they open. We match experts to work on a rolling basis, so you apply once and stay connected to relevant opportunities as they arise.
About Wiingy projects
Experts in the chemistry network contribute to a range of work depending on the project:
- Evaluating how frontier models handle advanced chemistry: reaction mechanisms, electronic-structure reasoning, and quantum-chemical method selection.
- Authoring reference solutions, worked mechanisms, and reasoning traces to the standard of a methods section.
- Generating and verifying training data for supervised fine-tuning (SFT), preference feedback (RLHF), and verifiable-reward (RLVR) work.
- Flagging where model reasoning breaks: a wrong assumption, an invalid step, an unsupported conclusion.
- Stress-testing and red-teaming outputs for subtle domain errors, and holding calibration against gold-standard items.
Projects vary in scope and duration, with typical commitments in the range of 15-30 hours per week. Each task is scoped, with its rate shown upfront, and you choose what to take on.
Who we're looking for
- PhD or Master's in chemistry or a closely related field (computational, physical, organic, inorganic, or theoretical chemistry).
- Working fluency with computational methods such as DFT, ab initio, molecular dynamics, or cheminformatics.
- Strong scientific communication and the ability to write a tight, defensible rationale for a technical judgment.
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote environment.
Focus areas: Reaction mechanisms · Electronic-structure theory · DFT · Ab initio methods · Molecular dynamics · Quantum chemistry · Thermodynamics · Spectroscopy · Organic chemistry · Physical chemistry · Cheminformatics · Scientific reasoning
